Political Advertisements in Entertainment and Political Shows
Human Rights Center within the media monitoring project monitors hidden political, social and paid political ads during pre-election period. Human Rights Center monitors are observing hidden political ads in entertainment shows and apolitical programs. In the case of political program monitors observe if journalists express support to an electoral contestant or make statements against them. Monitoring doesn’t cover news programs.

Georgia Is Not for Sale vs. Georgian Dream
Ongoing political processes in Georgia have reached active pre-election phase. Many advertisements of political subjects appeared in media. The video clips produced by the non-governmental organization Georgia Not for Sale immediately attracted public attention in the ongoing pre-election advertising battles. The purpose of those video clips is to form public opinion against Bidzina Ivanishvili-the leader of the coalition Georgian Dream.

Work of Chamber of Control of Georgia Was Unconstitutional for Five Months – Human Rights Center Publishes Intermediate Report
On September 4th Human Rights Center published intermediate report of monitoring of pre-election period which talks about concrete violations observed during election process. At the press-conference held in Human Rights Center, among other violations, special emphasis is paid to the activity of State Audit Service the work of which was unconstitutional for five months.

From August 19 to August 25, Information Center of Kakheti observed 7 facts of oppression, 1 fact of interference in journalistic activities, 1 fact of interference in agitation activities, 1 fact of violation of requirements of the Election Code by election administration, 2 facts of usage of administrative resources and 1 fact of assumed bribery of voters. Police did not respond to 4 cases which contained signs of criminal offence.

From August 19 to August 25, Information Center of Mtskheta-Mtianeti observed 2 facts of firing people from jobs, 1 attempt of failing pre-election meeting, 2 facts of seizing social aid on political grounds, 2 facts of oppression and 3 facts of usage of administrative resources by the National Movement. Police did not respond to 2 facts which contained signs of criminal offence and hindered pre-election meetings of the Georgian Dream’s majoritarian candidates with voters.
