Kutaisi to Spend 250 000 GEL on New Year Celebration

Kutaisi has started preparation of the New Year celebration for several days already. The streets were decorated, New Year lights were installed, and central New Year tree was set up. Regardless celebration mood, the society has different opinions. They argue about the funds allocated from the local budget for the New Year celebration.
NGOs Assess the Work of Inter-Agency Task Forces for Free and Fair Elections

Inter-Agency Task Force for Fair and Free Elections was established based on the June 29 decree of the Minister of Justice. The purpose of the IATF is to prevent and react to possible violation of electoral legislation by public servants during 2016 Parliament elections that will contribute ensuring of free and fair electoral environment.
State Audit Service Fined Three Political Unions

As a result of the pre-election period monitoring, the State Audit Service fined three political unions with total 378 200 GEL. Seven donators of the political union State for People were fined with 187 000 GEL; 1 donator of the Georgian Patriot of Alliance was fined with 183 200 GEL. Donators to the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia were fined with 8 000 GEL for illegal donation. At the same time, 7 political parties and 12 candidates were fined for not submitting the requested information to the SAS.
Senebi – village without water, gas and road

The story started 200 years ago, when German people were forced to settle in Georgia. A part of German colonies was established in Kvemo Kartli region too. One of them – so-called Katarinenfeld, was located in the territory of Bolnisi. Probably, Germany has never been so close to Georgia as it was then, but coexistence of Georgian and German peoples turned up temporal. In 1941, with the beginning of the World War II, the Germans were exiled.

On October 26, as a result of the scheduled meeting in the frame of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, Ilia Takadze, resident of Kirbali village, who was arrested by the occupation regime soldiers several days ago, was freed from Tskhinvali detention setting. Russian soldiers arrested Ilia Takadze when he was collecting fire-wood in the forest. The family paid 2 000 Russian rubles as a fine.

The Gori City Mayor, Zurab Jirkvelishvili called the twice-failled question back from the City Council. The initiative of the Mayor referred to giving the Gori swimming pool to the Ministry of Economics. At the August 5 session the council members did not support the initiative. Several deputies left the session and the quorum was not accomplished. Second session was scheduled at 17.00 on August 5, but the quorum was not reached again. The next session was scheduled on August 8. However, the Gori Mayor Zurab Jirkvelishvili called the initiative back. The members of the City Council were clarified that the Mayor had not specified the space of the object in the resolution.

In March 2016, directors of Tbilisi based kindergartens were massively fired from jobs. Representatives of the Tbilisi Kindergartens Management Agency and Tbilisi City Hall state the directors were fired based on the Audit report which claimed about their negligence and unreasonable expenditure of funds. However, the fired directors speak about other motives and reasons.

Chairman of the Gori City Council Ilia Metreveli purchased a flight ticket to Poland from the Council’s budget but then he changed his mind after having consultation with Irakli Okruashvili, his advisor. The Council Chairman requested the air-company to reimburse the money but they returned only 155 GEL out of 905 GEL.

Kaspi district governor presented 2015 Report of the district administration to the municipal board with one month delay. After hearing the 2015 Report on March 15, one part of board members expressed discontent. Robert Kavtiashvili, member of the municipal board, said they did not like that district administration could not use budget funds up to 3 million GEL and suspended infrastructural projects in the municipality.
