Gori Municipal Board Supported Version – “One Plus Five”
On March 27, there were five issues on the agenda of the special session at Gori municipal board. First issue referred to administrative-territorial optimization of the district. 25 board members attended the session. 21 of them voted for the initiative and four were against. With majority votes, municipal board adopted “one plus five” format of administrative-territorial optimization. 
State Elaborated Strategy to Resolve Demographic Problems
With the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia, from June 1, 2014, families will receive monthly allowances for the third and next children in the regions of Georgia, where demographic balance is negative. In the mountainous region, families will receive 200 lari and 150 lari in other regions.

Giga Partenadze died in Geguti prison on March 4, 2014. Family members claim he was tortured to death. Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has already started investigation into the fact. Family members claim the investigation is dragged out and have no access to the expertise conclusion.
Demonstration to Request Reimbursement of the Damage Caused by Natural Disaster
Population of four villages in Gori district request reimbursement of the damage caused by natural disaster in August, 2013. The natural disaster destroyed harvest in the villages of Ditsi, Korda, Arbo and Ergneti (bordering with Tskhinvali region).

On February19, demonstration was held in the frame of the Campaign “This Affects You – we are still listened to” in Batumi. Representatives of nongovernmental and media organizations initially gathered in May 6 Park and then marched to Batumi University to request prohibition of illegal, secret surveillance.

Gori District Administration to Sold Extra Vehicles via Auction
Human Rights Center requested public information how much funds were spent on the fuel for the service cars of the leaders and employees of the Gori district administration. The administration replied that 96 421 lari was spent on the fuel in 2013.
At Akhalgori District Georgian Secondary Schools History Is Taught from Text-Books Published in Tskhinvali
From new school year, South Ossetia’s de-facto education ministry will introduce new Georgian history books in Georgian secondary schools of Akhalgori district and they will be published in Tskhinvali. New course of history lessons will be introduced in the Akhalgori district schools, where Russia will not be presented as “occupant” and “aggressor”. Teachers of local Georgian schools say they were informed about it.
Why Tamar Mearkishvili Was Resigned from the Position of the Youth House Director?

On March 18, Human Rights Center held press-conference about the case of prisoner Mamuka Toliashvili in the Prime Time’s press-club. In his letter to the organization, the convicted person wrote that he was victim of revenge of the former senior law enforcement officers Giorgi Oniani and Gia Donadze.

Muslims from Pankisi Gorge Held Protest Assembly
Muslims living in Pankisi Gorge held protest assembly. They protested unofficially established restrictions for their movement by Georgian MIA. Imam Ayuph Borchashvili from Jokolo village said young people from the Gorge including women are called to the counter-intelligence department and oppressed there.
