Chairperson of the fraction United National Movement Beka Korchilava petitioned the assembly about the impeachment of the Gori Mayor.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is questioning the witnesses into the murder case of Khorava Street. MIA has been questioning the witnesses for several days already. Among witnesses are the teachers too. The Ministry plans to repeatedly question about 100 individuals.

Ministry of Economics and Sustainable Development, in the frame of the project “50 Properties for Your Hotel”, is selling balneology resort Akhtala in Gurjaani. The auction was announced on May 16 and deadline for the submission of applications is June 14. The starting price of the resort is 3 755 000 GEL.
Attack on the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Gori

On May 16, somebody shot the door of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses located in Tsmindatskali settlement in Gori from firearm. As locals told humanrights.ge, presumably somebody shot the door of the Hall from so-called hunting gun. Besides the bullet hole, a massage was left on the door of the Kingdom Hall - “Trust In Our God.”

On May 15, the 86th meeting in the frame of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism was held in Ergneti village, which lasted nine hours. The main issue discussed during the meeting was Archil Tatinashvili’s death. Representatives of the Government of Georgia stated that Archil Tatunashvili was killed and de-facto authority of Tskhinvali shall transfer them all documents, including the internal organs of Tatunashvili.

I think it is result of the current policy of the state. More than 855 persons have been arrested under the criminal law for the domestic violence offence in the first three months of 2018. We have a very strict policy,” the director of the Human Rights Department in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Londa Toloraia stated at the conference of Human Rights Center – “Prevention of Violence against Women – Problems and Challenges.”

Representatives of the opposition party state that nepotism has become very strong in the local self-government. Resume working of Agara factory – protest movement

On April 18, on the 48th day of their protest, about 500 dismissed employees of the Ltd Agara Sugar Factory decided to walk from Agara to Tbilisi and continue their protest in front of the Government’s Chancellery. The protesters said as the government did not pay attention to their protest in Agara, they will arrive in Tbilisi and will request meeting with the PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

Six persons arrested in Gori

In the evening of April 8, an incident between law enforcement officers and citizens in Gori finished with the detention of nine citizens. Three of them were freed under administrative bail; the other six were sentenced to pre-trial detention on April 11; the decision was made by the Judge Levan Darbaidze at the Gori district court.

Anti-corruption agency of the State Security Service imposed criminal liability of the former deputy governor of Gurjaani municipality Dimitri Kalatozishvili and six more employees of the administration for the neglect of official duties. The court imposed bail of 5 000 GEL as a preventive measure on each of the accused persons.
