Funds for Social Projects Decreased in Gori District Budget
Next year budget of Gori district is increased at 1, 700 million in comparison to last year and it amounted to 18 659 500 lari. In 2013 Gori district budget was 17 092 800 lari. According to the next year budget, funds for the social projects were decreased at 90 000 lari and only 810 000 lari will be spent in this direction. Culture and sport development is the priority of the next year budget.

Auto-Mania in Adjara Government
Adjara Supreme Council will no longer purchase Jeep of 2014. Supreme Council Chairman Avtandil Beridze changed decision after the society expressed discontent about his intention. Legislative body of Adjara Autonomous Republic was going to pay 83 300 lari for the newest model of jeep.

Number of Women with HIV/AIDs Increasing in Georgia
According to the recent surveys in Georgia, number of women with HIV Infection has increased. 113 out of 443 patients revealed in 2013 are women. 85 of them died.

Court Orders MP to Pay GEL 50,000 in Slander Lawsuit
The Tbilisi City Court has ordered a lawmaker from UNM parliamentary minority group, Giorgi Vashadze, to pay GEL 50,000 (about USD 29,700) to Joseph Kay for calling him a “swindler”.

Merabishvili Accuses Chief Prosecutor of Threatening Him
Former interior minister and ex-PM Vano Merabishvili, who is in pre-trial detention, said at a court hearing in Kutaisi on Tuesday that chief prosecutor, Otar Partskhaladze, told him to help solve the case of death of PM Zurab Zhvania otherwise threatened with deterioration of his condition in prison and with the arrest of his friends and relatives.

Guria Residents Intend to Cut Tangerine Trees Down
Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia visited Guria region. He said this year harvest of tangerine in Georgia amounted to 100 000 tons and only 17 000 tons were realized of it. He said that last year, only 10 000 tons were realized by present time and total amount of the harvest was 46 000 tons. Pipia said bad weather created problems in this direction. Farmers from Guria intend to cut down tangerine trees because of created problems.

Press-Conference on the Problems of Political Prisoners Arrested in Kintsvisi
On December 13, Human Rights Center’s representatives held press-conference on the problems of people convicted for the so-called Kintsvisi Case in the past. The Center’s representatives said current government does not try to investigate facts of torture and inhuman treatment in the prisons during previous years and does not intend to review hundreds of cases, on which court had passed illegal judgments.

Bad Weather in Guria – Population Receives Electricity Supply with Delays
Bad weather and heavy snow fall left villages without electricity in Guria; problems were created on the motorways too. The snow cover reached 60 centimeters in Guria. Six villages were not supplied with electricity in Ozurgeti district. Head of Ozurgeti office of the Energo Pro Georgia Gia Nakaidze told humanrights.ge that villages Naruja, Laituri, Mtispiri, Askana, Pampaleti and Vakijvari and several villages in Chokhatauri district were not supplied with electricity.

Batumi Was Paralyzed Because of Bad Weather
Because of hard snowfall started from December 9, Batumi was not supplied with electricity during two days and it paralyzed the city. Villages nearby Batumi are not supplied with electricity so far.
