Adam Mikhnik Met Opposition Leaders

On November 29 European Union sent Polish Media Defender, one of the former leaders of “Solidarity”, a journalist with the newspaper “Wiborcha”, Adam Mikhnik to Georgia to observe the problems regarding the freedom of media, holds meetings in Tbilisi with the leaders of the opposition and the journalists.

Mikhnik gave first closed meeting with the leaders of “The United National Council”, Davit Usupashvili and Kakha Kukava. The Georgian politicians talked about the necessity of resuming the broadcasting of “Imedi –TV”.

After the meeting Adam Mikhnik stated to the Broadcasting Company “Rustavi-2” that he is concerned by critical situation in Georgia. Particularly, he is worried by the fact that one of the most famous TV-broadcasters is closed during the pre-election campaign.
