“The New Rights” Discovered 590 Thousand Violations on Voters List

January 4, 2008

Mamuka Katsitadze, the member of the New Rights, stated that while examining the voters list, they detected nearly 590 thousand violations in them.

51 800 citizens out of total 3 400 000 were inserted on the list two times with different names, surnames or addresses. Nearly 26 thousand people are double-registered with similar data.

510 thousand cases of violations were discovered on the lists. “The government intends to appoint their representatives to mark people on January 5 entering the election district; thus they will be able to fraud elections easier,” Katsitadze said.

He also added that the New Rights have learned from reliable sources that the people employed at governmental bodies were seized their and their relatives’ IDs and would receive those documents before January 4 with sealed ballot papers where number 5 will already be marked. “We warn everybody against following Saakashvili until political grave. We will expose every perpetrator; we have all corresponding resources for it,” said Mamuka Katsitadze.
