Attorneys Were Jailed for Taking Bribes.

Murman Khamashuridze and Nino Vashakmadze the Attorneys working in the civil court in Batumi were jailed by officials of General Prosecutors Office on 9 February. They were charged with having taken bribes and punishable under (Criminal Case Code, article #338, part I). Subsequent to their arrest, the two charged have jailed for two months preliminary detention.. 

According to the information of “Human Rights center” Vashaymadze is charged for having taken a bribe in the amount of 1 200 GEL.

Murman Khamashuridze was arrested also having received money in Tbilisi. Davit Chkhaidze assistant of Khomasuridze neither confirms nor denies the allegation.

“Human Rights Center” tried for several times to connect with Jemal Kiknadze the chairperson of Batumi civil court. Though as the secretary of the chairperson had announced Jemal Kiknadze was not in the court at the times indicated.
 
Murman Khamashuridze and Nino Vashakmadze have been worked as attorneys in Batumi court for a long time.  Murman Khamashuridze also was a chairman of the court for some time.


The charge producing to the former attorneys foresees arrest from 6 to 9 years.
