One of the Founders of the TV Company “202” Wants To Meet Georgian President after Being Released From Imprisonment as Pardoned

Convicted Shalva Ramishvili, one of the founders of the TV Company “202” wants to have a meeting President Mikheil Saakashvili upon being pardoned and released from prison. As a free man he wants to have a personal audience with the Georgian president.

Elene Tevdoradze, the chairperson of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Parliamentary Committee told the above-mentioned in her media interview.

Tevdoradze met Ramishvili in Rustavi Penitentiary Colony # 6.

“I was once again assured Ramishvili’s release will not cause any danger for society,” said Tevdoradze.

The MP reported that Ramishvili has not submitted a petitioned to anyone in seeking a pardon. However, members of civil society have made requests along this line in several instances.

United Opposition has also requested the release of Shalva Ramishvili.

Ramishvili was arrested on August 27 2005; he was alleged of having demanded a bribe from MP Koba Bekauri. The court sentenced him to four-year-imprisonment on March 29 2006.
