Journalist Gela Mtivlishvili blames Gurjaani Municipality Governor for suppression.
On February 3 a stranger called Gela Mtivlishvili on phone and threatened to kill him. “I will kill you, put you head in the bag and send to your family! Unless you stop your activities, you will definitely be killed. Do you realize who you are opposing?! You should know that it is not a problem for us to simply kill you! We will push you in the trunk of a drop you dead body in the field for animals to eat!
Nobody will mourn over you either!”
Gurjaani District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs started investigation of the case. The investigator concluded that certain Grigoriani was calling the journalist who lives in Sundukiani Street # 17 in Tbilisi. Ramaz Kerechashvili, Gurjaani District Governor lives in Sundukiani Street # 15, in the neighborhood. Gela Mtivlishvili claims that the governor and Grigoriani know each other very well and during the phone-call they were all together.
The journalist and victim is now demanding that Griogoriani and the Gurjaani Governor be punished for these threats.
It is noteworthy that Gurjaani Governor has had tense relationship with local journalists for sometime. The relationship was destroyed after Kerechashvili was exposed by journalist for not having received a high education in spite of his claims otherwise.
