Journalist Giorgi Mamatsashvili to Hunger Strike

March 5, 2008

“Publishing House “Samshoble” should be restored to its owners and not privatized,” Giorgi Mamatsashvili started a hunger-strike in front of the former building of the publishing house with this demand.

Mamatsashvili petitioned to the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Nino Burjanadze, Chairperson of the Georgian Parliament, Prime-Minister Lado Gurgenidze and the Public Defender Sozar Subari.

Unless his request is satisfied Mamatsashvili does not intend to stop hunger striking.

The publishing house “Samshoblo” is listed a property on the privatization list.
