United Opposition Cannot Afford Expensive Advertisements

April 29, 2008

Leaders of the United Opposition are protesting their unequal conditions in comparison to the leading party during the pre-election campaign. They are accusing the National Movement for spending administrative resource and budget funds for the election campaign.

Members of the National Council stated at the press-conference today that only the leading party is able to afford paid advertisements on TV stations and the short time dedicated to the United Opposition used to discredit them.

As for street advertisements, the United Opposition states that almost all commercial space, so-called billboards, is already occupied by the National Movement. They also reported that the price of one square meter on a billboard has reached 500 USD; as for TV advertisement, it is ten times expensive than that of commercial advertisement.
