Tinatin Khidasheli Blames the Government for Suppression

May 2, 2008

Tinatina Khidasheli, member of the Republic Party and majoritarian candidate for MP in Saburatlo District in Tbilisi, blames the Georgian Government for suppression. Medianews reported from the election HQ of the MP candidate, that yesterday, in the village of Dighomi near Tbilisi, unidentified people did not allow the young activists of their party to put up the announcements on the walls. Tinatina Khidasheli informed the voters about today’s meeting by these banners. The strangers were sitting in the black BMW and did not let the activists to put up the announcements. A green BMW continues to follow Tinatina Khidasheli everyday while she meets with potential voters.

Tinatina Khidasheli demands the government to investigate and prevent such violations. “I am warning the government that they will not succeed with suck kinds of methods in their fight against Tinatin Khidasheli and the Republican Party. If somebody threatens or blackmail our activists we promise that you will receive adequate response. We will not put up with the situation and feel to be the position of a victim. We will response to everybody adequately,” said Tinatin Khidasheli said at the briefing today.
