Sokhumi Side Named Members of Georgian Special Forces Who Organized Khurcha Accident

June 2, 2008

Vladimer Arlan, deputy head of the Security Department of the Abkhazian de-facto government, named the members of Georgian Special Forces who organized the explosion in the village of Khurcha.

Arlan stated a hiding-place was found near the scene of the accident that was prepared by Georgian Special Forces. There, they found mobile phone that belongs to Zamo Gabedava, officer of the Constitutional Security Department.

“The incoming and outgoing calls recorded on mobile phone demonstrate that Zamo Gabedava was intensively speaking with Roman Shamatava, Zurab Logua and Gia Baramia the chief officials of the CSD,” said Arlan.

According to the Abkhazian side, the explosion of buses was staged by Georgian Special Forces. Based on the same source, official Tbilisi blamed CIS peace-keepers and Abkhazian militiamen for the accident.

Zurab Logua states the spread information is absurd and categorically denies his participation in the accident of Khurcha.
