Levan Gachechiladze: I Am Not a Drug -Addict

Levan Gachechiladze, the leader of the United Opposition states that the scandal on the drug test “smells rotten”, he says he will have international expertise in order to prove he is not a drug addict. 

Gachechiladze has his own explanation on finding codeine, alkaloid material from opium group in his blood by taking Solpadein fizzing pills containing codeine when he suffers from heavy head aches.

Levan Gachechiladze, told the journalists that after the drug test he applied to the doctors who explained that even the pills for children against cough and headache contain codeine.

“I have never thought it would cause such scandal. I am not drug addict. The doctors will tell you the same. Georgia is a small country where everyone knows everything,” states the MP candidate Levan Gachechiladze.

The date of conducting drug test for the new MPs expires today.

Gela Lezhava, the director of the Narcological Center confirmed Levan Gachechiladze does not have clinical singes characteristic for drug addiction and he has never been registered in the Center as a drug addict.

Levan Gachechiladze must submit the results of the drug test to the CEC today. The final test result must be announced by the CEC today by 6 p.m.
