Residents of Lamiskana Dream of Irrigation System

July 15, 2008

Residents of the village of Lamiskana in Kaspi district might lose their harvest. The reason is lack of irrigation system in the village. Because of drought the plants are drying in the plots.

People from Kaspi district informed the Human Rights Center’s Shida Kartli office that the pump of the irrigation system is broken in the village. Besides, the channels are not in order.

Kaspi district municipality board has already counted the total expense for the repairing of irrigation system in Lamiskana. They will have to spend 100 000 GEL on the works that is not envisaged in the budget of this year.
