Special Operations Department Arrests High-Ranking Officials from Kakheti Energy-Distribution Company

Today the Human Rights Centre has learned that the Kakheti branch of the Special Operations Department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested Badri Chavleishvili, sales manager of the JSC “Kakheti Energy-Distribution Company” and Zaza Mebaghishvili, director of the Akhmeta Service Center of the same company.

Telavi District court fined Mebaghishvili with 500 GEL for drug use under the Administrative Criminal Code, Article 45. Badri Chavleishvili was charged for the purchase and storage of drugs according to the Article 273 of the Georgian Criminal Code. Chavleishvili was released on bail for 20, 000 GEL.
