Low-Quality Rehabilitation Works in Sighnaghi Exposed Once Again

July 21, 2008

The population is discontent about the implemented rehabilitation carried out in Sighnaghi. The first stage of the city restoration was officially completed.  However, many separate operations have not been yet completed.  Locals state that their houses were only half-repaired.

Giorgi Pashalishvili, resident of the Rustaveli Str. # 14 in Sighnaghi, stated that his house in extremely poor conditions since it was rehabilitated.

Pashalishvili complained that because of implemented low-quality repair-works in his house and the demonstrated in-difference of the builders has resulted in his house being unfit to live.

Giorgi Pashalishvili applied to the district administration and special service agencies for help.

Economic and Infrastructure Development Department of the Sighnaghi Municipality Board reported to the Radio “Hereti” that they have already attended to Pashalishvili’s house.

A “Special Commission completed protocol on Pashalishvili’s house was drawn up and submitted to the construction company. The company should be responsible for its poor workmanship and they should correct their mistakes,” said Gela Korashvili, chief specialist of the abovementioned department.

Pashalishvili stated that unless corresponding agencies attend to his problem on time he would then seek to meet with the president.
