Unprecedented Robbery in the Villages of Gori District

Population of the Gori District villages urge for immediate help.

 

 
According to the information of the Human Rights Center the villages of Tkviavi, Mereti, Karaleti, Tirdznizi are occupied by Russian soldiers who rob houses there. The soldiers break into the houses of peaceful population, rob them and if somebody resists harassers they kill people.

 

 
The gunfire is heard in the distant villages too. The people expect that soon Russian troops and band formations will enter their villages too. The local residents urge international organizations to assist them and to react on the violence immediately. International organizations should make Russian troops to stop attacking Georgian villages in Gori district.

 

 
The Human Rights Center appeals to international community to raise voice against the violence and to take concrete steps to protect Georgian population.
