Russian Aggression Responsible for 200 Hectares of Forest in Flames

As a result of the fire in the part of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park and Borjomi forest nearly 200 hectares of the forest has already goes up in flames.

Irakli Ghvaladze, Georgian Minister of Environment and National Resources reported to the Medianews, that they try to localize the fire by cutting trenches and fire stops.  Special groups of the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and local inhabitants are carrying out fire fighting activities in order to bring the fires under control. The minister stated that Turkey promised to assist them in the effort. However, Ghvaladze cannot predict when Turkish planes will manage to fly into Georgian territory.

Reportedly, the forest was set on fire by the special aircrafts of Russian aviation that dropped special incendiary bombs to intentionally set the forest ablaze. The use of such bombs is banned by international conventions.
