The IDPs from Akhalgori Ousted from Tskneti Public School # 137.

September 5, 2008

The IDPs from Akhalgori were ousted from Tskneti Public School # 137 today.

The IDPs are gathered at Parliament Hall at the moment and their representatives are meeting with MPs.

The IDPs told news agency Interpressnews that 69 people lived in the Public School # 137. They said the school principal called the police to oust the IDPs from there. The reason was that the school year had to start on time and the IDPs could not stay at school any more.

The IDPs state that there were children including a new born child as well as a pregnant woman in the building. They have no place to go, at least this night. The IDPs also say that they had food problems. On top of all, 69 IDPs were supplied with only 5 mattresses.
