IDP Family Seeks Help

September 26, 2008

The family of Natia and Davit Terterashvilis, IDPs from the village of Karaleti in Gori district, urges immediate assistance. Their three little children have no food or clothes.

Natia Terterashvili stated to the Human Rights Center that they had left Karaleti on August 13. “We were running on foot with our three children. My husband was wounded in his leg during Abkhazian war. Since then he has been disabled. It was very difficult to carry children but we somehow managed to flee from the conflict zone. We receive aid from the UN World Food Program but it is so little that our children are still hungry not to mention my husband and myself. We don’t even have any clothes to wear,” said Natia Terterashvilil.

She stated that currently they are sheltering in the house of a strange family in the village of Vejini in Gurjaani district. The house is in such bad conditions that it might soon be pulled down. Thus when it does not rain, the family sleeps in the yard at night.
