Patrol Police Arrested former Deputy Gurjaani District Governor

Yesterday, officers from Kakheti regional department of the Interior Ministry arrested Roin Kochorashvili, former deputy Gurjaani district governor and current member of the ruling party when he was living shop of “Elitelectronics” along with his child.

Kochorashvili reported to the Human Rights Center that he was arbitrarily detained and patrol policemen wanted to estimate whether he was under influence of narcotics or not. He was taken to Gurjaani Drug-Test Center for an evaluation.

The examination showed that the detainee was not under influence of drugs and he was then released. Roin Kochorashvili assessed the incident as being a form of revenge. He intends to enter into politics in nearest future and thinks that certain people are trying to discredit his reputation in the meantime.

Gurjaani Patrol Police department claim operative information as a reason for Kochorashvili’s detention.
