Bolokiani Villagers Say they will Judge Cattle Rustlers on Lynch Law

October 15, 2008

The inhabitants of Bolokiani village, Lagodekhi District are asking for help. The locals say the incidents of cattle stealing have become more frequent in recent times. The villagers say law enforcers arrested several suspects some time ago. However, they were soon released on bail.

“They are filling the budget by releasing criminals that should be locked up in prison. The criminals continue going about stealing cattle. We have no rest from these frequent cattle rustlers. If this continues we will punish thieves and make an example than others will not dare doing the same,” state the inhabitants of Bolokiani.

Malkhaz Shubitidze, head of Lagodekhi Police Department does not confirm that cattle stealing have taken a sudden increase in the village of Bolokiani. Shubitidze states that no one applied to the Lagodekhi District Division of MIA about cattle rustling.
