Russian Soldiers Injures Head of Gali Lower Zone Police Deparmtment

Russian soldiers inflicted injuries on Besik Chkonia, the head of Gali lower zone police depamtment in the village of Otobaia, Gali District. The inhabitants of Otobaia found Chkonia near a Russian military base and took him to Sokhumi Hospital for treatment Chkonia is now suffereng from shock. However, doctors expect that his condition will improve and he will survive.

An inhabitant of village Otobaia told news agency Media news that the villagers heard shooting at 7 AM this morning. They later found injured Chkonia  in Otobaia village center where Police Deparmtment and Russian soldiers had a standoff in an exhange of fire that lasted for several minutes. 

„We know that Chkonia was drunk and he had argued with the Russians. We heard the noise of shooting at about 7 a.m. The shooting lasted for several minites. When we found injured Chkonia and he was laying unconcsience. First we even thought that he was dead. He had  4 bullet wounds. We do not know why he had argued with Russians. The only thing we know is that the sound of shooting was coming from Russian base,“ said an Otobaian to Media news.
