Immunization Inadmissible in case of Minor Health Problems

October 24, 2008

Levan Baidoshvili, head of Department for Prevention of Contagious Diseases of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health stated that everyone who has running nose or fever must avoid vaccination.

“Those have some small, minor health problems like flue must not be vaccinated,” told Levan Baidoshvili to news agency Media news.

He said that a girl who had a rush after having vaccinated is feeling fine now. “24 hours after vaccination a small rash appeared on the girl’s body. She was placed in the hospital just to be on the safe side. It was small reaction on vaccination and occurs on in 1-5 % of vaccinated people,” stated Baidoshvili.

News agency Media news journalist asked why doctors did not examine pupils before vaccinating them. Baidoshvili said “There is no need in conducting a preliminary examination. There is only one thing that must be taken into account while vaccinating minors of 12-16 years and it is their high emotional approach to the situation.”

He said the shaking and fear is quite characteristic for minors of 12-16 years.
Due to the vaccination against measles 13 pupils were placed in hospitals.
