Two Minors Killed by Ossetian Separatists, One Pregnant Woman and Old Man Burned Alive in Bed

The government finished granting compensations to the families of killed civilians who were lost their lives during military activities in Gori.

According to official information, a total of 93 civilians died during military activities in Gori and Gori District. 30 died in the city of Gori and 63 -in Gori District. 75 out of 93 died as a result of bombings and 18 people were killed by Ossetian separatists, and included 2 minors and 28 women out and one of the women was pregnant where she was killed. The oldest of them was 93-year-old physically disabled man. Ossetian burned him alive in his bed at home.

Granting compensations started on August 25, 2008. The families of those killed during Gori bombing whose bodies were identified were the first to receive compensations. The rest will receive compensation in step-by-step procedures.

930,000 GEL was allocated from the central government and transferred to Gori District Governor’s Office to help war victims and their families.
