Occupants Not Allowing European Observers Access to Village of Perevi

Russian troops, as an occupying force are still deployed in the village of Perevi in the Sachkhere district. After the Ossetian band formations left the village the situation has calmed down. However, Perevi residents are still very much panicked about the security situation and they expect news danger each and every day.

Zurab Tsertsvadze, Sachkhere district governor, reported to Medianews that Russian soldiers promise local residents to leave Perevi but nobody knows the exact day will this promise will be fulfilled.

EU observers come to the occupants’ checkpoints practically every day as they examine the situation. However the Russian troops are not let them to enter the village.
