Pensioners Accuse the People’s Bank’s Cashiers in Extortion

November 26, 2008

Pensioners informed the Human Rights Center that the cashiers of People’s Bank do not give pensions total of their due money in Gurjaani, Telavi, Sighnaghi and Sagarejo Districts.

The pensioners say that cashiers cut 1-3 GEL from their pension illegally. They say that they have informed the administration of People’s Bank’s Kakheti Regional Branches many times about this violation, but the cashiers continue committing the same illicit action for several months.

Dodo Bochorishvili, head of People’s Bank’s Public Relations Division stated that she will send this information to Security Division of the bank. She said if the allegations are proved the cashiers will be dismissed.
