Competition for Vacant Places Will Be Held on April 9

Reportedly, competition for 47 vacant places in Gurjaani municipality board will be held on April 9, 2009. Applicants for vacancy places state the date was fixed by the municipality board on purpose in order to prevent local active people from joining protest demonstration in Tbilisi.

The announcement about the competition was published on March 16, 2009 in the newspaper “Gurjaani” which is funded from local budget. According to the resolution, the applicants should be tested within 3 weeks after the announcement; that means after April 6.

Gurjaani municipality board does not comment on the fact.

According to the spread information the number of applicants for vacant places in Gurjaani Municipality Board is too high. Kakheti regional newspaper “Imedi” reported that 400 people sent applications for 47 places.
