Directors of Public Schools in the Villages of Gurjaani and Vazisubani Are Fired

Members of the Councils of Supervisors at the public schools of the village of Gurjaani and Vazisubani in Gurjaani district, fired two directors of their schools: Marina Utiashvili and Nona Achuashvili.

The members of the council of supervisors stated that the council made the decision based on the conclusion that was prepared by the commission of the General Inspection within the Ministry of Education and Science. 

Darejan Burdiashvili, lawyer for the Gurjaani district educational resource center, explained that the protocols of the councils of supervisors will be sent to the Ministry of Education today and the minister will issue corresponding resolutions based on those protocols.

Reportedly, teachers, fired from the Vazisubani Public School opposed the director and blamed her for corruption. Teachers brought lawsuits against Marine Utiashvili at the court and Prosecutor’s Office. The Gurjaani Prosecutor’s Office had launched an investigation on unreasonable expenditure of school budgets. According to a reliable source, the investigation will finish in some days and Marine Utiashvili might face imprisonment.
