Members of Art Group Held Protest Demonstrations with Opposition

April 2, 2009

“The Movement for United Georgia” and the Conservative Party protest to sell the company “Art Group .”  Today protest demonstrations have been held by the representatives of the opposition in the yard of the above-mentioned company.

Opposition demands to legalize the fact that the company shares were sold. They want the businessmen not to buy an office of the company. According to the company shareholders, “Art Group” was illegally expropriated from Kibar Khalvashi, the owner of the company.

“In fact the government leave 4 800 people jobless who were employees of the company and were able to provide for their families. The workers of the company protest this and we support them”, said Zviad Dzidziguri, one of the representatives of the Opposition.

According to Eka Beselia, the member of an opposition party, while the government promises people to increase employment, they get rid of about 6 500 jobs only because Kibar Kilvashi, the owner of the company is a friend of Okruashvili.

“It demonstrates the true face of the government. We’ll give back these companies to the owners soon and compensate the damages caused by the government”, said Eka Beselia.

The representatives of the opposition urge businessmen to take part in the upcoming protest demonstrations on April 9 and fight for free business.
