Number of Domestic Violence Has Increased in Kakheti

Jilda Nibladze, the head of Kakheti Regional Committee for the Protection from the Violence, reported that number of domestic violence in Kakheti has increased for the last 2 years. According to the NGO, the number of violence victims has considerably increased this year.

Officially 166 citizens have applied to the Kakheti Regional Committee for the Protection from Violence for last 2 years. All of them were women. According to statistic data, the most cases of domestic violence in Kakheti region has happened in Kvareli district.

“The number of domestic violence is considerably large in the region. In many cases, victims cannot speak about their problems”, reported Jilda Nibladze.
