April 10, 2009

Masked people damaged the cars of members of the public movement “Why?”.

Irakli Kordzaia, founder of the movement reported to Interpressnews about the incident and stated that three members of the organization were in the car.

“Several members of the organization had left the meeting and they were going home. On Baratashvili Rise the patrol police stopped them and demanded their documents. After that, three Jeeps chased them to where masked people were waiting. The masked people smashed the windows of the cars,” said Kordzaia.

According to Kordzaia, their activist witnessed an incident in which sportsmen, professional boxers, seized flags from demonstrators and then beat them. “Because of the incident, the people who were in the square talked with the sportsmen and found out that they were boxers,” said Kordzaia.
