Eldar Chapanidze, a member of the “National Forum”, who was trying to catch up with the cars of the opposition supporters moving from Poti to Tbilisi, was assaulted and beaten by masked men. In the interview with the Interpressnews, Magda Popiashvili, spokesperson of the National Forum, said that the attack occured near the village of Supsa.
“Four masked men were beating the member of our party in the presence of patrol policemen and they neglected the fact. Chapanidze was driving from Poti to catch up with the cars moving towards the capital”, said Popiashvili and pointed out that Chapanidze was being transported to Poti hospital.
It should be pointed out that the cars will enter Tbilisi at about 5:30 pm. The cars are being led by the leaders of opposition parties.
