Badri Bitsadze Accuses Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili for Oppression

April 23, 2009

The head of Frontier Security and Migration Research Center, Badri Bitsadze, accuses the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vano Merabishvili for political oppression. Badri Bitsadze has made this statement today at the press conference held in this center. “Vano Merabishvili’s ministry continues to oppress former officials of the Frontier Police, make them come to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, physically assault them and compel them to make false testimonies about Bitsadze’s involvement in the corruption. It is the oppression for different political views”, said Badri Bitsadze.

According to him, his family members live in permanent political terror, but they are sure that soon the Government will become the victim of the oppression. “I warn Vano Merabishvili to stop political pressure”, stated Bitsadze.
