April 24, 2009

Zugdidi patrol policemen seized cars from the opposition activists. Maia Ghurtskaia, representative of the Alliance for Georgia reported to the Human Rights Center that cars were seized from their members Bichi Janjghava and Irakli Jonjua without any explanations.

“The patrol policemen did not explain anything and took their cars directly to penalty compound. It was typical threatening,” said Ghurtskaia.

According to the member of the opposition party mini-buses were deprived from two drivers. As drivers stated they were accused for being under influence of narcotics.

“Despite our request patrol policemen did not take the drivers to the Drug Center for the drug-test,” said Maia Ghurtskaia.

Cars of the supporters of the Alliance for Georgia started from Zugdidi to Tbilisi.
