The Parliamentary Bureau Sitting in Gori

May 5, 2009

On May 4 the Parliament of Georgia held a session in the building of the Shida Kartli regional administration in Gori. The Gori patrol police and the all policemen of the regional police were mobilized in front of the building. Vladimir Jugheli, head of the regional police was in the administrative building. However, none of the oppositionists came to the building during the sitting as was expected. The bureau sitting lasted 45 minutes. Journalists did not attend the sitting, cameramen were allowed to take a few shots only. To the suggestion by Paata Davitaia for snap elections, Bakradze gave a very short answer: “We can talk about any issue, except this one”.

Bakradze left the administrative building through the back entrance and he did not appear in the streets outside. Other parliamentarians left for Nikozi.
