Sozar Subari: “Policemen Threw Stones and Debris of Bricks At Demonstrators From Inside the Yard of the Tbilisi Main Department of MIA”

May 7, 2009

The Public Defender of Georgia Sozar Subari stated that policemen threw stones and debris of bricks at demonstrators from inside the yard of the Tbilisi Main Department of the MIA. “They are not policemen, they are bandits and they behave in the same way as their minister. I want to state that Vano Merabishvili, the Minister of Internal Affairs, is a bandit and I have repeated this several times already. For example the secret meeting on November 4 2007 where the dispersal of the demonstration on November 7 was planned,” said Subari.

On TV channel “Maestro” Subari showed the stones that were thrown by policemen last night. The ombudsman stated the policemen did not allow him to enter the building of the main police department and did not explain to him the reason for refusal.
