The police continue to persecute Ilia Ramishvili, a businessman who Lives in Kievi. He is a friend of Gia Krialashvili, one of the suspects of the mutiny in the Mukhrovani military base who was liquidated by police officers during a special operation.
As Nodar Peikrishvili, lawyer of Ramishvili informed newspaper „All the News“, on May 15 after the mutiny in the Mukhrovani military base, law enforcers visited Ramishvili’s family members and informed that Ramishvili was accused of purchase, storage and transportation of weapons. They said that they had found a large number of weapons in the basement. According to the lawyer, Ramishvili is renting a three-storied house in Zubalashvili Street for 7 years now and turned it into a hotel.
“According to the prosecuting side, the police found 4 units of Kalashnikovs with 8,240 military cartridges, military rocket launchers and the necessary ammunition for it. Namely, three projectiles and their three launchers. According to the investigation, these weapons were supplied for the building in Zubalashvili Street # 36 on April 8-9, however we do not know the facts on which they base this information, “said Peikrishvili.
According to Peikrishvili, they say that Ilia Ramishvili and Gia Krialashvili supplied the ammunitions in the basement together. „The Hotel had been closed since May 16 and the operation in the hotel was carried out by the reconnaissance department. According to his lawyer, Ramishvili has no connection to the army, weapons or politics. The lawyer claims that there was no ammunition in the basement.
The basement was used by beggars as it has neither door nor windows. It is interesting who would save such an amount of ammunition in this place for a whole month, “said Peikrishvili, the lawyer.
According to him, he has not had the opportunity to get enough information about this issue. As Sozar Subari, the Public Defender, reported to a newspaper, the issue will be discussed in the office. The fact that the lawyer is not allowed to get information about the suit is considered to be illegal.
