Repression Continues – Three Young People Were Arrested

June 15, 2009

In the evening of June 12, members of the youth movement “Why?” – Davit Patsatsia, Kakha Beitrishvili and Kakha Giorganashvili were arrested. The Human Rights Center was informed that police cars were deployed in front of the houses and offices of the movement members and some other people might be detained as well. The detainees are accused for having insulted the MPs.

The Human Rights Center condemns the detention of these people and thinks that government attempts to continue the repressions in the country. The Center calls upon the government of Georgia to release the detained people immediately.
