Journalists Were Injured During the Dispersal Near the Tbilisi Police Department

The Human Rights Center was reported that journalists were injured during the dispersal of demonstrators in front of the Tbilisi Police Department.

The policemen beat not only demonstrators but journalists too.

Natia Mikiashvili, head of news-room of the TV Company “Maestro”, reported that law enforcers beat the journalists of their TV Company and seized camera from them. “Journalist Teona Laliashvili and camera-man Sergi Baramidze were beaten; camera was seized from another film-crew of journalist Ana Broladze and camera-man Shota Kapanadze,” said Natia Mikiashvili.

The Center was informed that besides the journalists of the TV Company “Maestro” the journalists for the TV Company “Kavkasia” were also beaten and camera was seized from them as well.

TV Companies “Maestro” and “Kavkasia” ceased broadcasting in protest.

According to the News Agency Interpressnews the camera-man of the news agency Tornike Ziziashvili was also assaulted.
