“Maestro” Programs Are Not Boradcast in Kakheti So Far

June 22, 2009

Akhmeta Cable TV-Company has not been broadcasting programs of the TV Company “Maestro” in Kakheti for a month already. Members of the local organizations of opposition parties state that the administration of the cable TV Company ceased broadcasting of Maestro programs according to the orders of Davit Lortkipanidze, head of Kakheti Division of Constitution Security Department.

Davit Lortkipanidze is brother of the deputy minister of internal affairs Gia Lortkipanidze. They are originally from Akhmeta district.

Leaders of regional organizations of non-parliamentary opposition parties state that if the local TV Company had not switched off the “Maestro,” the cable television was threatened with complete switch off and with launching criminal cases against the administration.

Eka Gavardashvili, interim head of cable TV Company, said that “Maestro” programs were delayed because of bad weather and technical problems. Nowadays, the regional TV Company does not speak about those reasons.

Officials of the CSD Kakheti division do not comment on the statements of the opposition parties.
