Today MPs Will Be Able To See The Detainees During the Incident Near the Police Department

Today, the MPs will be able to visit the young people detained during the incident near the Tbilisi Police Main Department on June 15.

Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Davit Bakradze announced about it at the session today and he added that he would release corresponding permissions on MPs today and tomorrow MPs will be able to visit detention settings.

Davit Bakradze stated that society has many questions regarding the health conditions of the detainees and more transparency is necessary in the field.

The MPs will visit the cells of the pre-trial detention where people charged under administrative law are placed. Besides that, they plan to visit Gldani investigation detention setting N 8 within the Penitentiary Department.

On June 15, the MPs raised the question on visiting the detainees during the incident in front of the Police Department last week. Dimitri Lortkipanidze and Eka Kherkheulidze from the ruling party will visit the detainees. Gia Tsagareishvili from the parliamentary minority is also requesting the right to visit the detention setting.
