Tskhinvali Still Requests Information About “Kidnapped Citizens”

June 23, 2009

Tskhinvali de-facto government still requests information about those Ossetian citizens who were kidnapped by Georgian Special Forces as it is claimed by Ossetian side. News Agency “Res” has reported about it.

Tskhinvali requests the information in exchange of participation in the working meetings on incident prevention and reaction mechanisms.

“We have no information about our citizens so far and it is very important issue for us. We have stated several times that until we are provided with the information on their location, we will not participate in the meetings. We still keep on our position,” said Merab Chigoev, head of working group from Tskhinvali. He added that the issue of co-chairpersons is not resolved either.

Chigoev stated that because of ignoring the requests of Ossetian side, Tskhinvali refuses to take part in the meetings.
