Kote Kapanadze Member of the New Rights Was Fined with 20 000 GEL

Kote Kapanadze from the New Rights was detained for the abuse of his power in Kakheti region; he was bailed with 20 000 GEL.

Kapanadze is accused for causing the damage of 82 000 GEL to the state budget in 2005-2006 and in 2009. In those years he worked at the Tax Inspection as an inspector. According to the investigator Joni Jichonaia, the head of Kakheti investigation division of the Department for Revenues within the Ministry of Finances, in 2005-2006 when Kapanadze worked as an inspector at the Tax Inspection he taxed Aidan Mailov, an individual entrepreneur with law sum. “After checking the information, we found out that the enterpreneur was to pay 208 400 GEL instead of 17 000 GEL,” said Joni Jichonaia.

Vazha Kapanadze, the brother of the detainee, said that his brother was detained without any reasons and it is a political revenge.

Nika Vardoshvili, the head of Telavi District organization of the New Rights, the illegal detention of Kapanadze was political order. “Kote Kapanadze and his brother Vazha Kapanadze are active members of the New Rights, so they are being persecuted by the government.
