Five-Year-Old Girl Might Be Switched Off From Reviving Apparatus

June 29, 2009

Five-year-old Megi Khaziuri has been in the Intensive Therapy Center at the Iashvili Children’s Hospital for four days already. She has been unconscious all this time and now, because of unpaid fee she might be switched off from the reviving apparatus.

Grandmother of the child Gulnazi Khaziuri stated the family cannot pay the fee at the hospital. A patient has to pay 400 GEL a day at the hospital.

Five-year-old Megi Khaziuri got poisoned as a result of taking a large amount of medicines on June 26. The child was playing in the family of their neighbor in the village of Akhasheni, Gurjaani district. Megi and her three-year-old neighbor Kristine Vardosanidze drank medicines but parents found out it later. Kristine’s health conditions are stable but Megi Khaziuri is in poorest conditions.

The family of the child is urging for help.
