Court Thinks that Protest Demonstration about Any Particular Case Is Oppression on Judge

July 20, 2009

Tbilisi City Court made statement in regard with the protest demonstration of youth organizations of the opposition parties organized close to the court.

The court stated that no final decision was made regarding the suits of Giga Girkelidze, Tsira Javakhishvili and Joni Javakhishvili. The suitors demanded the defendant side, the Ministry of Economical Development of Georgia, to order the Tbilisi City Hall to issue the ownership certificate on the former property of the Department of Sport and Tourism in Constitution Street N 6, Tbilisi.

“Based on the abovementioned facts we think that the demonstration aimed to influence the judge to pass the verdict in favor of the suitors. It is anti-constitutional and illegal. The investigation on the case will continue and fair verdict will be passed,” it was said in the statement of the court.

Today, the members of the youth organizations of the opposition parties organized a demonstration to support the suitors.
