Executor of the Tbilisi Executive Bureau Was Arrested for Bribery

Inspection of the Prosecutor’s Office and Investigation Department of the Ministry of Finance arrested Tornike Chighladze, executor of the Tbilisi Executive Bureau, for bribery.

Today, at the conference, Giorgi Obgaidze, chairman of the National Executive Bureau, stated that Tornike Chighladze was suspected according to the Article 338, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia which considered taking bribe; the crime is punished with the imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.

Obgaidze added that Tornike Chighladze had a corruption deal with a person whom could purchase the property at the auction after paying 1000 GEL to him.

“Each executor shall learn the lesson from this incident” he said and added that such facts had not taken place recently. There was only one fact in 2005 when executor accepted bribe.

“The incident demonstrates that we fight against the corruption in the country. We will do our best to punish those who will commit such crime. It can be an example for everybody”, stated Giorgi Obgaidze.
