Georgian Football Federation Files Complaint against Russian Football Federation

August 18, 2009

The Georgian Football Federation (GFF) complains against the Russian Football Federation. The, so called South Ossetian Football Team “Tskhinvali’s Spartaki”  has the the same name as the Georgian Football Team “Spartaki” and takes part in the Russian Football League Championship. According to the regulations of the FIFA and UEFA, Russia does not have right to register the football club of the self-proclaimed country in the Championship. As the Georgian Football Federation reports, an appeal immediately will be brought about that fact in the international organizations.  In case Russia allows “The Tskhinvali’s Spartaki” to take part in the championship, Russia will be expelled from FIFA and UEFA as well,” said the representatives of the GFF.
